Hi I'm DJ Iman ! I was raised in Columbia, South Carolina, and began my  DJ journey in Atlanta, GA. I recently moved here to San Diego with my husband who is in the United States Navy. I'm a open-format DJ bringing a dynamic, genre-fluid energy to every room. Specializing in Afrobeats, Amapiano, Hip-Hop, and R&B, each of my sets are more than just music—they’re about creating moments, reading the room, and taking people on a journey.

As a National Thespian with a background in musical theatre, I've  always had a deep love for performance and storytelling. My theatrical background allows me to bring an unexpected element to my sets, blending musicality, personality, and showmanship into an experience that keeps audiences engaged. With an appreciation for music across genres, I  refuse to be boxed into one sound or one vibe.

My passion for DJing began alongside my father, a DJ and music professional with more than 40 years of experience in the industry. From producing to engineering, he has spent decades immersed in music—and I grew up right beside him. Before stepping behind the decks myself, I started as his MC. By doing this I learned the importance of commanding a room, connecting with an audience, and understanding the energy of a crowd.

Before music became my profession, I built a career in beauty as a licensed hairstylist and makeup artist. My work has taken me  through working on reality television sets, independent film, and even shows in New York Fashion Week. Whether  curating a look or curating a set, my creative instinct has always been rooted in bringing a vision to life.

I love to have my worlds of beauty, performance, culture, and music collide to create experiences that feel intentional, energetic, and unforgettable. For me DJing is another form of artistry—one where I get to curate not just sounds, but moments.
