Hi! My name is Timothy Stern. My love for music started back when I was growing up in the Philippines. I remember the time when I got a package from my mom who was living in America at that time. From that package it was a VHS tape of Michael Jackson’s stage performance, singing beat it and doing a moonwalk. I remember dancing with my family to his song and I would try to replicate his moves. At that moment, music had made a lasting impression on how much I like to dance or move my body and how such a thing can have a huge impact on connecting people through music. When I move to America and lived in Alabama, I was introduced to all types of music from classical to classic 1950s to 2000s hits. I remember one time when my grandpa and I was dancing to Doo Wop. That was one the most special moment I had with him. Now, music is everything to me and is essential to my life. Specially for a roller skater. Funny thing is that I started DJing because of roller skating and also watching scratch battles. I could go on but I will end it by saying that music has the power to connect to us all.
